start with a second language early… Greek will hit most if not all of the bases that latin does, with the advantage of NT and Eastern early church reading.

teach them to read well and observe well. Cause them to memorize things worth memorizing. This is not hard for children. My son memorized the book of Jonah by just reading it and listening to it repeatedly. He understood the message.
