Government bureaucrats *are* the Swamp: to a great extent unaccountable, unelected, at several removes from anyone who *is* elected (unlike Elon!), career appointments doing things that can and should be done by the private sector or, in many cases, not at all. Someone like the above person actually thinks it’s a good argument that the government is a jobs program. It’s not. That’s not its function. Its function is to execute justice, maintain law and order, provide for the general welfare (as long as this is not too broadly construed), protect the borders, and represent unique U.S. public interests abroad. So much that these people do is NOT anything remotely like a legitimate function of the government.
